Meet Playtik
Games move fast: a patch lands, a mode changes, a new title takes over the group chat. Playtik is a gaming publication for players who want clear information at the pace they actually play.
Its four sections cover what to play, how to get better at it and why the hobby matters to the people in it.
How we work
Guides come from time spent in the games and from official patch notes and publisher statements. When an update changes the advice, the page is changed to match, and guides say which version they cover.
Four subjects, one outlook
Video Games. Broad coverage of releases, series and genres explains what a game is and who is likely to enjoy it. Opinions are labeled as opinions, and release dates are checked against the publisher.
Mobile Gaming. Phone and tablet games are covered with attention to how they are monetized, how much time they ask for and what they do with a player’s data. Readers get the facts before the install, including what an app asks for in permissions.
Game Guides. Guides break down mechanics, strategies and common stumbling blocks. They name the game version they were written for and are revisited after significant updates.
Gaming Culture. Communities, creators, events and the history of play are discussed as a human story as well as an industry one. The tone is curious rather than tribal.
Who reads Playtik
Casual players, dedicated fans and parents trying to understand what their family is playing are all welcome here, whether they play for ten minutes a day or ten hours.
Playtik will get things wrong now and then. Write to [email protected] with the page and what looks off, and we will look into it and fix what is confirmed.
